Multanis Worldwide

This blog is an attempt to re-unite Multanis around the world. The beautiful culture, language, tradition, cuisines, etc.

July 2009 – This blog has just started out. So a bit haphazard. So far I have been writing about Multanis on my personal blog. However I have been getting a lot of emails and calls from known as well as unknown people to start a platform solely dedicated to Multanis. So finally, we decide to start sailing in search of our fellow tribe!

It’s important for Multanis worldwide to come together and help in reviving the beautiful culture they are a part of. Don’t let it become non-existent.

Be proud that you are a Multani!

P.S. I am trying to collate more information on Multani culture, language, customs, traditions, cuisine and just about anything Multani. Write in – with whatever information you have – big or small – what matters is the effort.

    Hi Priti !

Reason to write this blog is to complete your half knowledge. you wrote the better part in your blog but forgot to write the worst side.

    Firstly i appreciate your effort.

but in your whole blog one thing is missing about which i am sure you dnt know ie the harrasment and the insult we had in INDIA.

    People call refugees.

I am multani living in HARYANA. Born in HARYANA. I am saying this not on some internet research … me my friends have expirienced this at many places at many times .

Those moments changed me a lot. even my dada didnt gt a promotion in his goverment job even after wrking for more than 20 years . before that my DAD was in NAVY.

HARYANA is A JAT community dominated state

You know local community frnds sometimes used to call us refugees, punjabi bhagode, etc…
we used fight on these thngs .. but … no results … coz the truth is dat v are from minor community

but today m well settled in every sense from power to money, those things made me more strong … n now jat and othr major community guys dare to say these words to me …

IN haryana and in other north indian states the face of multani’s life was different…. now its changing a lil bit coz more and more pep are getting educated

You don’t knew these things bcoz u r living in a very gud city from birth.

Well i wana share lot things through your blog … but i’ll if i see pep multani’s having interest in knowing the othr part

once again thnx for your effort … i hv nvr thot someday while surfing i’ll see such a gud blog …

HATS OFF TO YOU PRITI AHUJA!!!

even on some websites people call us refugees … why !! we are hindu and INDIA is for hindus…

And if we are refugees here then which place belong to us … when will we get respect …

nither people from pakistan nor indian population ready to accept us ..

and i cant hear this word ‘refugee’ any more it boils mah blood and every multani who had such exp ..should now give answers by hitting big blows on the faces of those who call us . .. multani’s in india will not suffer its not their fault.

    its stupid gandhi’s aur nehru’s fault ….
i dnt kno who is responsible …

check dis one ::: calling multani as refugees

    Hi Priti,

Thanks for the blog on Multani Culture & Traditions. This is a welcome initiative to regroup Multani’s & I agree with Gauravdeep. Well let me introduce myself. I am Bharat Khanna a proud Multani & my ancestors came to India from what is now Pakistan.Yes I agree to what gauravdeep has brought into picture is true but there is another angle to the story my friends. After coming from Pakistan to India our community was not reunited & we got scattered. People generally call us refugee as they think that we were not part of what is called even in Government records as undivided India then. We need to work this out be reunitng the community as I came across most of the Multanis as calling themselves as Punjabis at times as they are reluctant to say with proud that they are Multani.Lets spread this message thru this blog that we are Proud to be a Multani.
